Main Hall (Prayer Hall)

The main hall is the primary feature of Birmagham Jame Masjid. This is the most widely used area within the mosque whereby the five daily prayers are conducted.

The main hall features a niche which is known as the Mehrab. This faces the direction of the Kaa’ba in the city of Makkah. A pulpit is found adjacent to the Mehrab where the Imam delivers sermons and lectures to the congregation.

The main beauty of the main hall is the open space provided for the prayers. There are only 3 pillars to be found in the main hall, which is beneath the area of the balcony. The open design of the main hall provides a tranquil setting for the prayers to take place within the masjid.
