About us

Birmingham Jame Masjid serves as a vital center for the Muslim community in Aston, Birmingham. More than just a place of prayer, it is a hub for religious guidance, community engagement, and social support. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds to join us in worship, learning, and community building.
The foundations for what is now Birmingham Jame Masjid was started in the 1970s by our founders as the Birmingham Anjuman-E-Islam Trust (BAIMT). Initially with a place of prayer in the local area, followed by their first Masjid at 23 Arden Road, Aston. This provided a dedicated prayer area and madressa.
Due to the growth of the Muslim community in Aston and local areas the need for a larger dedicated Masjid was required and the Birmingham Jame Masjid was built and inaugurated in 1988.
Since 1988 the Masjid has expanded. There are now three dedicated floors for prayer spaces. They have also built a separate hall which can be booked for events such as parties. This area also encompasses an area for their funeral service.
Recently the Masjid acquired the old funeral directors building next door and have plans for how to develop this over the next 5 years.
We welcome you to Birmingham Jame Masjid!
